Yet another new bird for me at Regent's Park was the smew. This was exciting because it is a native bird to the UK, so I was easily able to identify it using my app. I didn't get photos of the female, though I saw it, but it looked so different from the male that I thought it was just a different bird altogether. So for now, there is just the male pictured here. I can't say much about it since I didn't have a chance to really observe a lot of its behaviour, but again, I always hope to go back and watch them again.
