Rosy-billed pochard (Netta peposaca)

Yet another non-native bird in the collection at Regent's Park is the rosy-billed pochard. I was sure it was a shelduck, which is native, because the beak looks really similar to the shelduck, which I had seen at St James's Park and is pictured here in my blog from a few months ago. But no, it's a different species. I was only able to get one of photo of it--and frankly the photo was good enough that I didn't feel more would be needed, especially since it was resting and not changing positions--and in the photo, you'll see also a hooded merganser, who will get its own entry.
