I had the great pleasure and privilege of visiting Skomer Island off the Pembrokeshire Coast in Wales over the weekend. I had been thinking to include a special report that I do as when I go to other countries, but I felt it would be better to list all these birds separately, especially since some of them are ones I can see in other parts of the country, like the Greater Whitethroat, a.k.a. Common Whitethroat and also just Whitethroat. It was pretty exciting to see new birds before even getting to Skomer Island. I spotted many of these birds flitting around the low bush and bramble at the meeting place to catch the boat over to the island. It was hard to get photos of them at times as my camera's focus was being finnicky, but eventually it worked out, as evidenced by the photos. They have a really nice sound, and I would encourage you to listen them in the RSPB link above. We had to check in at the launch point an hour in advance of the boat's departure, so I had sufficient time to try to get other photos, including bird photos.
Rye Harbour Nature Sanctuary, 29 April 2023: I found another one of these little guys in the shrubbery. It was just so cute! I was just surrounded by little birds, and I kept trying to capture them on film. It wasn't easy, but I did manage to get a couple of decent photos, including one of the whitethroat!
