The storm water pond near my old house back home had a pair of breeding American wigeons. By the time I moved here, there were about 3 or 4 breeding pairs there. Once I discovered what these cute little dabbling ducks were, the first time I saw them, I've been in love with wigeons. They have beautiful markings, blue beaks--which are one of my favourite things in life--but they are also fairly small, and the American wigeons make the cutest sound. I haven't heard the Eurasian one, so I don't know if it's the same or similar, but they are also small and cute with pretty markings.

Having discovered the birdwatching treasure trove in Regent's Park the other day, I ended up seeing several lifers, one of which was the Eurasian wigeon. I'd like to get some other photos of them while swimming and just observe their behaviour, but for now I was able to capture a pair as they were having an afternoon rest.
