Eurasian blue tit (Cyanistes caeruleus)

Updated: Feb 27, 2022

Another beautiful, sweet little bird in Bath, the blue tit, as it's normally called in the UK, was flitting about with a half dozen or so friends in the area where I saw the long-tailed one. I was able to get some relatively clear shots of this little one, though not always at the best angles. Sometimes it's fun to show those, though, because it's entertaining or it's kind of cute. In this case, I got an excellent shot of its fuzzy little bum.

What I love about these ones is how colourful they are. I'll never tire of their cousins, the black-capped chickadees at home, because they are so sweet and cute, and they'll eat seeds out of your hand. Nothing compares to the feeling of their tiny little feet perched on your hand while it grabs a seed from it, but they aren't as colourful as some of their counterparts in the UK. I'd like to see if they are as friendly here to eat out of your hand, but I have to get some seeds to try it out.
