Pennsylvania

Not really a blog post as much as a photo dump. My trip out to Pennsylvania was an unplanned trip this year (for those that didn't know, my dad passed away there while visiting my brother). Even in times of difficulty, I try to find moments of beauty and joy to remind me that there is hope and that life must still go on. So I was grateful to be flying there in daylight, as it allowed me to see landscapes previously unknown to me, mainly the Labrador part of the province of Newfoundland & Labrador as we flew over it as well as getting an aerial view of the St. Lawrence Seaway. That they were winterscapes was all the more interesting because you could see ice on the water and interesting geological formations as well as footprints of some kind through the otherwise pristine snow.

Toward the end of the week I was there, as things were settling down, my brother cooked some yummy things that we have a hard time getting in the UK - at least good quality versions of them, like steak - and we savoured each other's company as much as the food. My older nephew was in school, but my younger one still needed some outings during the day, so we took him to the National Aviary in Pittsburgh. I didn't get too many names of the birds. It's unusual for me, but I was just focused on seeing them and photographing them, and I actually felt a bit too lazy to get all the names, I must admit. Google images is good for this anyway, so if I need to know, I can search them up using Google lens, I should think.

Returning to London was mainly dark out, but I did catch a beautiful sunset from high up in the air.
